- ItemRestrictedFactors associated with COVID-19 vaccine uptake hesitancy among healthcare students in Malawi(Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, 2022-02-02) Karim, Karim Arif; Khupe, Amanda; Liundi, Petro; Lipemba, WalikoThis is a mixed method study, both qualitative and quantitative, employing Descriptive Cross-sectional study.The main objective of this study is to understand the hesitancy towards COVID-19 vaccine uptake among healthcare students in Malawi specifically at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHsS) as in Malawi, there is limited data on the hesitancy ofCOVID‐19 vaccine.The vaccine has been made available across the country but there are suggestions that not all who has been made accessible to have taken it. This study tries to fill this gap to understand why this is the case, mainly among healthcare students.The study design will be a descriptive cross-sectional study and the study population will be the undergraduate healthcare at Kamuzu University of Heath Sciences (KUHeS).Data will be collected using designed questionnaires via online Google forms and random sampling method will be used to select participants at KUHeS, Mahatma Ghandi and Kameza Blantyre Campus for the study. The study period will be conducted in a 6‐week period during our research block in the 4th year of our Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery program. The research findings will be disseminated orally at the dissemination seminar, which will be held at the KUHeS Mahatma Gandhi, Blantyre Campus. The results of the study will be sent to the College of Medicine Research and Ethics Committee, the Health Sciences Research Committee, the KUHeS Mahatma Gandhi, Blantyre Campus Library and the course coordinators.
